As part of my first year at EPFL, we had to analyze and create projects centered around Avenue des Grandes-Communes in Onex.
The project is situated around a retaining wall that separates a green area from a parking ramp. The goal was to generate an unexpected spatiality in this ordinary and familiar place for the residents of Onex.
The retaining wall becomes the foundation of the wooden structure, which does not touch the ground on the ramp side but extends over the green area on the other side. On this side of the wall, there are several trees and shrubs, to which the structure adapts.
