The first semester of my second year was structured around several phases, which became the tools used to build the final project.
Following the analysis of a vestibule, the element I chose to focus on was the creation of spaces by offsetting them from one another. Then, a film was assigned to us, and the main character became our client.
My client was the Tenenbaum family from the film The Royal Tenenbaums by Wes Anderson.
The project involved creating a house for a completely dysfunctional family. Each person has their own small house with a feature unique to them. At the center, I decided to place the common spaces. The challenge was to create a private space for each family member while bringing them together in a large system that forms the family home, including the outdoor spaces.
The plan is designed so that the characters' needs are met — for example, some may prefer more isolation than others, while others are confronted with the underlying tensions they have with one another.
